Grant Details: 

• Total monthly funding pool: £500 

• Maximum award per individual: £250 

• How much to apply for: Apply for the amount you need – £25 up to £250 per person 

Eligibility: 

• You must be based in the Tees Valley (born, living, or working in the area). 

• Must be a member of the Tees Valley Creates: The Freelancer Network, join for free here: https://www.teesvalleycreates.co.uk/join-the-network  

• You must be working in a creative or cultural discipline. 

• You must be 18 years of age or older. 

• You must be registered as self-employed with HMRC. 

• All information required is submitted. 

What We Expect: 

• Nothing. There are no reports or check-ins required after the award. We want the grant to support your creative journey in the most flexible way possible. Whether it’s for equipment, supplies, training, inspiration, or simply giving you the freedom to take time for your craft, this grant is yours to use as needed. 

• You can apply for the grant as many times as you like. If your application isn’t successful in one round, don’t be discouraged – we welcome continued applications. 

• If you are awarded a grant this month, you are welcome to apply again next month. However, to allow as many network members as possible to benefit, we kindly ask that you consider taking a one-month pause before reapplying 

How to Apply: 

Send an email with the subject line "ARTIST MICRO GRANT APPLICATION" to:

Include the following: 

• Your contact details. 

• The amount you’re applying for (between £25 - £250) 

• Any relevant social media links, website, or portfolio 

• The creative discipline you work in 

• A brief paragraph explaining how the grant will support your career as a freelancer in the creative and cultural industries in the Tees Valley. 

Deadlines & Notifications: 

• Application deadlines: The 25th of each month.  

• Notification: Successful applicants will be notified by email by the 1st of each month.  

• Next month’s applications open: The 26th of each month. 

For example: 

• Applications for January grants open on December 26th, close on January 25th, and applicants will be notified by February 1st. (Or by the next business day, in the event of a weekend or public holiday. 

• Grant recipients will be randomly chosen from all eligible applications each month. Selections will continue sequentially until the available funds for the month are exhausted.
